INTERIM CASE STUDY: RECRUITING 800 EMPLOYEES

The client is a leading international company in its segment, employing more than 70,000 people worldwide. They have been operating in Slovakia since 1993.

INITIAL SITUATION

The client was launching a new product based on direct personal sales. The requirement was to recruit 400 self-employed individuals across various regions of Slovakia, while the product itself was kept confidential during the project. This confidentiality meant that standard advertising methods suitable for recruiting salespeople could not be used.

SOLUTION

The Interim Manager proposed a recruitment solution for the client that took into account the confidentiality of the entire project. The solution consisted of:

  • Organizing so-called castings in the largest cities of Slovakia (Košice, Poprad, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Nitra, Trenčín, Bratislava), where participants only learned about the terms of cooperation and remuneration during the casting.
  • Group-based candidate selection, where self-presentation was assessed, and a questionnaire was filled out.
  • Further selection of candidates based on individual interviews and role-plays.
  • As a result of the above, the required number of candidates was selected within 10 days.

In the next phase of the project, the Interim Manager’s tasks included:

  • Participating in selections in the individual regions.
  • Creating job descriptions.
  • Collaborating with the call center, including the preparation of call scripts.
  • Supporting regional supervisors in training.
  • Exploring possibilities and preparing advertising and promotion for the position.

CONCLUSION

The Interim Manager is still active in the company today. During the collaboration period, more than 800 employees have been hired. Currently, the Interim Manager’s main responsibilities include overseeing recruitment and conducting the pre-selection of candidates, which takes place over the phone. Based on this process, personal interviews are then organized with the regional supervisor to whom the employee is assigned.
