Together with Slávka Cigáňová from TREND.sk, we exchanged questions and insights about how the map of career opportunities in #Slovakia is changing. And this is not just an observation — it is the reality we see every day while filling positions.
What has changed:
• #Bratislava is no longer the only logical choice. High living costs and extreme competition make the capital a place more suited for experienced professionals rather than juniors.
• Industrial regions offer more hands-on opportunities. Less prestige perhaps, but faster exposure to real practice, responsibility, and visible results.
• Salary levels? Comparable. Starting salaries in the regions are now at the same level — or very close to those in Bratislava — not only in engineering, but also in IT, HR, and marketing.
• It is absolutely possible to build a successful career outside Bratislava — without it meaning a step backwards.
